The Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) works tirelessly to ensure that the voices of victims are heard and justice is served. In this spirit, the ICC invites applications for an internship in the Legal Advisory Section.
This full-time position requires interns to commit to a six-month period beginning in June 2025. Please note that internship placements shall not be extended beyond six months.

Required Documents for Application
To complete the application, candidates must prepare the following documents:
- A completed “Duties and Responsibilities Form” (refer to step 1 on your eRecruitment Profile page).
- Motivation letter (maximum of 400 words).
- Two reference letters (one must be academic).
- Scanned copies of university degrees and/or diplomas.
- Scanned copies of official academic transcripts stating courses, results, and completion date.
- One short essay on a subject relevant to the work of the Court, focusing on the role of the Office of the Prosecutor (maximum of 750 words, single-spaced, typewritten).
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Legal Advisory Section’s staff, interns will have the opportunity to engage in a diverse array of activities, including:
- Conducting legal research on administrative and staff-related issues, including ILOAT case law.
- Assisting in developing and drafting internal regulatory instruments, such as the OTP Regulations and Operations Manual.
- Supporting the establishment of a Lessons Learned system to implement good practices.
- Engaging in the maintenance of a legal-academic network, including organizing Guest Lectures.
- Contributing to the development of OTP policies on key issues identified by the Prosecutor.
- Upholding the professional and ethical standards of the Office.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Candidates must hold a law degree from a recognized university at the start of the internship. An advanced degree will be considered a strong asset.
- Experience: Practical experience is not mandatory but is a valued asset.
- Skills: Candidates must possess strong teamwork skills, excellent drafting abilities in English, and the capacity to thrive in a multicultural environment.
Language Proficiency
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court (French or English) is essential. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is also considered an asset.

Remuneration
Please note that all internship placements at the ICC are unfunded. The ICC is unable to provide any remuneration or reimbursement for expenses incurred during the internship.
