
Job Vacancy: Communications and Media Assistant

Overview:
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is inviting applications for the position of Communications and Media Assistant.
This opportunity is open to both internal and external candidates. For this role, qualified candidates within the organization will be prioritized.
Role Context:
The successful applicant will operate under the guidance of the Chief of Mission in Ireland and the Senior Communications Assistant.
This role will play a crucial part in promoting IOM Ireland and raising awareness around migration issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of publicity regarding migration issues and IOM’s activities.
- Research and create engaging news stories, client stories, and multimedia content for various platforms.
- Manage and optimize IOM’s social media accounts, implementing a strategic posting plan to enhance audience engagement.
- Execute and evaluate social media campaigns and report on their performance.
- Update and maintain the office’s official website.
- Develop and manage a media contact database for improved outreach.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, preparing reports as required.
- Curate and create graphic designs for promotional materials in line with IOM branding.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
Education:
- University degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields with 3 years of relevant professional experience; OR
- High School diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
- Proven track record in producing newsletters, articles, and social media content.
- Familiarity with the latest in social media and design technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems.
Skills:
- Exceptional writing and data analysis skills.
- Strong communication skillset with the ability to work independently.
- Creative mindset with precise attention to detail.
Languages:
- Fluency in English (both oral and written) is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Spanish is an advantage.

Additional Notes:
The offer is contingent upon funding confirmation. This selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various locations.
