
The European Defence Agency (EDA) opens its doors each year to a select group of recent university graduates through its 1-year Traineeship Programme.

What EDA Offers:

Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for consideration, applicants must meet the following requirements by the application deadline:
- Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of one of the Member States participating in the Agency.
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have completed at least the first cycle of higher education (a full degree equivalent to a minimum three-year university program) by the application deadline.
- Languages: Proficiency in at least two languages of the participating Member States is required, with English being one of them, as it is the principal working language of the EDA. Additional languages are considered a plus.
- Relevant Background: Applicants should have an educational background relevant to the operations of the specific Directorate or Unit for which they are applying.

The traineeships are open exclusively to those who have not previously engaged in a paid or unpaid traineeship or employment within any European institution for a duration exceeding six weeks.
Timing and Duration:
The Call for Applications is typically published around March each year. Traineeships commence in September, with start dates on the 1st or 16th of the month, and are offered for a fixed duration of twelve months.
Financial Matters:
Trainees will receive a monthly allowance of 1,476.34 EUR. Additionally, they will be entitled to a fixed monthly meal allowance of 100 EUR.
Disabled trainees may qualify for a supplement to their monthly allowance, covering up to 50% of their allowance, to assist with extra expenses due to their disability, such as transport or special accommodation needs.
Health and accident insurance is mandatory.
