The second edition of the I-ACT (Italy-IRENA Action for Climate Toolkit) training programme is now open for applications for peer educators.
The closing date is 21 March 2025.
This initiative is co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and implemented by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
It is designed to enhance awareness and understanding of climate change, renewable energy, and sustainable development by empowering young leaders to become effective peer educators.
Background
The I-ACT programme aims to cultivate a cadre of young international leaders who can disseminate vital information about climate change and promote sustainable practices in their communities.
Utilizing a training-of-trainers approach, the I-ACT initiative will be carried out in two phases. In the first phase, IRENA will select young leaders from diverse geographical regions to receive comprehensive training using the Toolkit.
In the second phase, these trained leaders will return to their home countries to share the knowledge they acquired through training events.
The Italy-IRENA Action for Climate Toolkit includes a variety of resources, such as presentation materials, facilitator guidance, and engagement activities, that peer educators can utilize to conduct their own workshops in schools, communities, or universities.
