Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundational knowledge in tactile sensing, sensor fusion, or related areas.
- Practical experience with robotic hardware and software platforms.
- Proven track record of research contributions, evidenced by publications in esteemed venues such as ICRA, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and IROS.
- An impact-driven mindset, showcasing the ability to thrive in a collaborative and diverse research environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and a dedicated work ethic.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration for robotics applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python.
Responsibilities
Engage in pioneering research in the area of robotic tactile sensing and perception, investigating innovative methods and technologies that augment robotic autonomy and intelligence.
Design, implement, and refine algorithms focused on sensor data processing, sensor fusion, and machine perception, alongside developing software to smoothly incorporate these algorithms into existing robotic systems.
Create, test, and iterate prototypes of robotic sensing systems, ensuring effective integration with hardware components.
Strategically plan and conduct experiments to validate the efficacy of sensing and perception systems across varied operating conditions.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to foster a productive and innovative research atmosphere.
