The International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and Fondazione Santagata for the Economics of Culture are pleased to announce the second International Training Course on Post-Crisis Recovery of Cultural Heritage (PCR 2025).
A limited number of scholarships will be available, prioritized for applicants from regions disproportionately affected by disasters or conflicts, as well as those with financial constraints.
This course will take place in a hybrid format, combining online learning with an in-person workshop in Asti and Canelli, Italy.
The course comes in response to the growing challenges posed by disasters—be they natural hazards or armed conflicts—and their devastating effects on cultural heritage.
The event is supported by Fondazione Giovanni Goria and is designed to empower professionals to effectively navigate the complexities of post-crisis heritage recovery.
Background
Disasters have severely impacted cultural heritage, erasing not only tangible structures but also the collective identities that communities hold dear.
Environmental changes are increasing hydro-meteorological risks, which heightens the urgency for professional capacity development in heritage recovery.
The PCR 2025 course builds on previous initiatives, including experiences in Mosul, Iraq, and aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to address these pressing issues.
