Background

The UNDP vital initiative under this framework is the Support to Immediate Recovery from the 2024 Floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a project funded by the EU aimed at addressing the immediate needs of communities affected by the catastrophic floods declared in October 2024.
Position Overview
UNDP is seeking a Project Assistant to join its team in Sarajevo. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Assistant will provide critical technical, administrative, and logistical support, ensuring the smooth execution of activities under the flood recovery project.
This role will involve facilitating communication with stakeholders, assisting in procurement processes, ensuring compliance with UNDP regulations, and supporting all aspects of project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive technical, administrative, and logistical support for project activities.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of project-related tasks.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and participate in project meetings, ensuring notes and follow-ups are conducted.
- Ensure accurate data entry for project monitoring and maintain comprehensive project databases.
- Draft official correspondence and assist in the preparation of various reports.
- Support procurement processes, ensuring alignment with UNDP rules and regulations.
- Maintain project documentation and archives to support quality assurance of business processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (2 years of experience) or High School certificate (5 years of experience).
- Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project administration or a similar role for those with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years for those with a Secondary Education.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly spreadsheet and database management.
- Prior experience in an international work environment is desirable.
- Languages: Fluency in English and one national language (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) is required.
