The Global Youth Climate Training Programme (GYCT) invites young climate advocates to apply for its 2025 cohort.
This fully online, no-cost capacity development initiative aims to empower individuals aged 16-35 with the tools and insights needed to effectively engage in international climate policy discussions.
Background of the Organization
The GYCT is a collaborative project initiated by the Global Youth Coalition (GYC) and the esteemed researchers at the University of Oxford, including Oxford Net Zero and the Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.
Launched in May 2023, the programme has already seen tremendous interest, attracting over 20,000 applications in its first two iterations.
Led by Alexis McGivern, an Oxford Net Zero Fellow, and supported by a dynamic team of youth activists from GYC, the GYCT brings together an intergenerational and international coalition of climate changemakers.
This unique synergy across various professional backgrounds and regions highlights the necessity and effectiveness of youth engagement in climate discourse.
